Country: United States of America
Organization: InsideNGO
Registration deadline: 11 Sep 2017
Starting date: 12 Sep 2017
Ending date: 14 Sep 2017

OVERVIEW

This three-day workshop covers the many rules and regulations associated with USAID funding for grants and cooperative agreements. In addition, this course provides a good foundation for understanding funding from other US Government agencies since there is a common core of regulations applicable to all federal agencies. Designed to enhance the ability of NGO staff to effectively manage their programs and maintain donor compliance, the workshop takes a deep dive into the relevant documents from the US Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) such as 2 CFR 200 and others.
Presented by a noted authority on the administration and oversight of federal funding, with time for Q&A, this workshop helps answer questions such as: What is an allowable cost? What procedures do I need to follow when purchasing equipment? What are the most common audit findings and how can my NGO minimize its audit risk? Participants are encouraged to raise questions related to specific awards management issues in their day-to-day work.
Note: This training is the first of three requirements for InsideNGO’s Certificate in USAID Assistance Management.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

In addition to individual participants, InsideNGO encourages teams of employees to attend this workshop together, to build and reinforce a culture of compliance across their organization. Those who will benefit include:

  • Finance, grants, and contracts staff

  • Experienced NGO employees who need a refresher or update on the rules and regulations
  • Independent auditors, including representatives from certified public accounting firms who perform compliance or financial audits within the development sector
